Dr. Swan is currently completing his residency at the University of Minnesota where he has had additional leadership roles including psychotherapy lead and clinic operations lead. His interest in neuromodulation and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy led him to pursue his current role as resident-researcher in the RISE lab under the leadership of Dr. Abott. He's interested in exploring the integration of psychedelics, TMS, and psychotherapy as treatment for various psychiatric disorders.
Prior to residency, he was a McNair scholar and a clinical researcher at HealthPartners; his previous research included primary research on the human gut microbiome and various topics in occupational and environmental medicine. He completed medical school at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona and spent most of his medical education in the Portland, Oregon satellite campus.
During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his two rhodesian ridgeback dogs, enjoying live music around the twin cities, and spending time with friends and family.
